WhatsApp Marketing Campaigns

Create campaigns via WhatsApp to sell, reactivate, and bring customers back.

WhatsApp campaigns are planned send-outs to a customer base or segment. In WPP Marketing, you choose the audience, schedule the message, send text or media, and track responses and results.

  • Mass sending via WhatsApp
  • Campaigns to the entire base or to segmented groups
  • Scheduling, media, reports and send history
Active campaign Repurchase promotion
01 Choose audience

Send to all customers or select more relevant groups when there’s enough data.

02 Create the message

Use text, image, coupon, link and variables to communicate an offer, launch, sales date or reactivation.

03 Track results

See processing, deliveries, failures, responses and sales generated after sends.

Many stores have customers in their database but only contact them when there's an active order.

WhatsApp Marketing campaigns help turn an inactive list into engagement, repeat purchases, promotions, and reactivation with operational control.

01

The base is out of commercial use

Customers who already know the store stop receiving offers, reminders, coupons and updates on the channel where they usually respond.

02

Sending without targeting becomes noise

Mass blasts can be useful, but campaigns perform better when they use segments, history, context, and appropriate frequency.

03

Result needs to appear on the dashboard

Without a report, the store doesn't know what was sent, who received it, who replied, or which sales happened after the campaign.

How to create WhatsApp Marketing campaigns in WPP Marketing.

01

Use your customer base

In supported integrations, the platform can import store customers to facilitate campaigns, engagement, and reactivation.

02

Set audience and objective

Choose the entire base, a list, tags, manual segments, or groups created from the history accumulated on the platform.

03

Schedule message

Create campaigns with text, image, coupon, link and send date for promotions, launches, commercial dates and repurchase.

04

Measure and respond

Track processing, statuses, responses, and sales to better tailor upcoming campaigns with more context.

Campaigns for moments when the store needs to reach out to the customer.

Promotions and commercial dates

Notify about offers, seasonal dates, coupons and time-limited campaigns.

New arrivals and restocks

Notify interested customers when there’s a restock, new release, or a category showing high purchase intent.

Customer reactivation

Reach out to inactive customers or those without a recent purchase using a clear offer, benefit, or reason to come back.

Recurring campaigns

Use scheduled messages for repurchase, restocking, loyalty club and ongoing engagement.

Mass messaging is a feature. Strategy is sending the right message to the right audience.

WPP Marketing enables broad sending when a campaign requires reach, but also helps you evolve to targeted campaigns as the store accumulates history, tags, behavior, and responses.

Manual send It depends on the team to copy contacts, send messages and track replies without a consistent report.
One-off broadcast Helps with bulk sending, but may be separated from the store, events, customer service, and resulting sales.
WPP Marketing Mass sending, segmented campaigns, e-commerce automations, inbox, Official API with CoEx and reports.

An available database in the store does not mean all contacts are eligible to receive any campaign. Before sending, confirm the contact’s source, the expectations set, the message category, and how the person can stop future communications.

Explain what will be sent

The opt-in must identify the company and make clear that the person agrees to receive messages via WhatsApp. When possible, distinguish categories such as order updates, support, and offers.

Register origin and context

Store when, where and for what purpose consent was obtained. A phone number provided at checkout alone does not prove consent for promotional campaigns.

Segment and control frequency

Use purpose, interest, history, and preferences to avoid generic or excessive messages. Consent does not turn every campaign into relevant communication.

Make opting out easy and respect it

Explain how to stop a message category, record the preference, and remove the contact from future applicable audiences. An opt-out request should not depend on persistence or confusing steps.

WhatsApp policy and applicable law are different layers. The opt-in meets the channel's required expectation; the company must also define and document the appropriate legal basis for processing personal data in its context. See WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and obtain legal guidance when in doubt about the operation.

Common questions about WhatsApp Marketing campaigns.

What are WhatsApp campaigns?

These are scheduled messages intended to communicate promotions, launches, repurchase or reactivation to a customer base. Unlike event-driven automations, the store defines the objective, audience and timing of the send.

Does WPP Marketing send mass messages via WhatsApp?

The platform supports broad campaigns to the eligible portion of the database or sends to segmented groups. Before adding contacts, the store must consider purpose, opt-in, preferences, opt-out, WhatsApp policies, and applicable law.

Can I send a campaign to the entire database?

Not automatically. First, the store needs to identify which contacts are eligible for the campaign’s purpose, taking into account opt-in, expectations, preferences, opt-out, WhatsApp policies and applicable law. After that, it can select the entire eligible group or more specific segments.

What is opt-in on WhatsApp?

It is the expression by which a person agrees to receive messages from the company via WhatsApp within an informed expectation. The record must allow identification of the company, the purpose or category of the communication, the source and the time of the consent.

How to register and respect opt-out?

Provide a clear way to request interruption, record the preference and remove the contact from related upcoming audiences. If the person only wants to stop offers, keep messages from other categories only when there is a valid reason and a reasonable expectation for them.

Does the platform automatically segment customers as soon as it imports the database?

No. Importing makes it easier to start with a customer base, but labels, segments and behavior-based classification depend on the setup, platform usage and accumulated history.

Is a campaign different from an event-based automation?

Yes. A campaign is an active communication planned by the store. Event-based automation is triggered by something that happened in the e-commerce, such as an abandoned cart, pending payment, paid order, or shipment.

Can I track responses and sales generated?

Yes. The dashboard helps track processing, message statuses, replies and results after sends, based on the data available in the integration.
